Narrator:
(Music - "Joy to the World" instrumental)
Do children who play with toy guns and violent video games
grow up to be violent? (gun fire)
Of course kids will invent stick guns if you don't buy them real guns,
but why encourage it? Why not curb violent play every chance we get?
In Chicago a chorus of brave people marched into a toy store at
Christmas time wearing white robes and halos carrying the message,
"Violence is not child's play."
Voice 1:
"We stood in the aisles among shoppers and sang, "Joy to the World,
no toys of war; let each child play in peace." Even though
it was a kind of radical weird thing to do, I sang in that
store because I really believe that playing violent games encourages
our kids to pick up real guns and hurt real people."
Narrator:
Help your children think about the toys they choose.
Voice 3:
This message of peace from the Mennonite churches.
